ET unVaels BWL

May God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won't.
General George S. Patton

No mercy was shown upon Vael as we rounded up the troops and struck hard and fast. On only our fifth attempt of the night and sixth attempt period, we killed Vael with only 36 people. This type of accomplishment is rare, and everyone deserves to feel proud of what we did. After that, we took a crack at the supression room and then spent an hour or so in MC killing Gehennas thru Shaz.

Here are the shots of another dead dragon. May he finally get the rest he longed.

And here is the group shot from our downing of Ossirian.

There's no stopping us

"He who fights too long against dragons becomes a dragon himself; and if you gaze too long into the abyss, the abyss will gaze into you."
Friedrich Nietzsche

Taking Nietzsche words to heart, ET has downed Razorgore after just a few serious attempts in BWL. Since the beginning of October we have made a foray into BWL about every other week, practicing and streamlining our strategy. All this hard work paid off last night, when Razorgore went down for the count. We gathered for merriment and to record our victory for posterity, and went to go meet Vael. He ate us. But fear not, we are not easily swayed, and will once again take up the battle.

In the past month ET has also downed Ossirian and cleared AQ20 completely. With the new talents and the great efforts put forth by our guild members, many a boss will fall before us soon.

Congratulations Elder Tribunal !!

Living on the Razor's edge

Oh, I’m squishing up my baby bumblebee
Won’t my mommy be so proud of me?
Oh, I’m squishing up my baby bumblebee
Yuck,……

ET made another foray into BWL this week and after a couple of tries got to stage 2 of the Razorgore fight. Happy with the work they had accomplished they went and partied in MC, clearing it once again.
Thursday, ET went into AQ20 with the intent of making some some valiant attempts on Ossirian. We made good progress in the fight, and wanting to make sure the night was a success, we cleared the rest of AQ20.

Behold Thunderyfury..no wait - Behold Thunderfury..dangitall - BEHOLD THUNDERFURY!!!!

My power is discombobulatingly devastating! It is ludicrous that these mortals even attempt to enter my realm!
Thunderaan

You keep using that word..I do not think it means what you think it means.
Inigo Montoya

Congratulations to Bonestriker for obtaining the legendary Thunderfury. We set up in Silithus for his great arrival, with a few guest stars; Pakopako, Gaoli, Bubaa and a few more that I apologize for missing. Bonestriker proceeded to summon Thunderaan and he got worked real fast. It seems though we had been caught by his secret weapon. Trying to figure out what discombobulatingly meant had thrown people into such disarray that Bone was unable to loot Thunderaan. No problem, we summoned again, worked him and Bone was able to stand there and not loot him. After fixing our error we trotted the poor boy out one more time. He was so tired by then he barely put up a fight and Bone was able to loot him.

I am looking for a picture of Bone with his new sword to post here. Send to eldertribunal2@yahoo.com

The Dirty Double Dozen

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder
Aesop

After our normal Ony run and hacking our way thru MC, it was getting late. A lot of people had to go and we were left with just a few adventuresome folks. We decided to push on. With no rogues and 3 tanks, 24 people in all, the going was a bit slow but we gallantly fought our way to Golemagg. We steeled ourself for the rough fight ahead. Charging in, Sakal and Malfeus recklessly attacked the massive molten man, while Bonestriker and Kaoiz led his heinous hounds off with Scooby snacks. It was a long and strenuous fight, with many a mighty blow given and taken. In the end it was our intrepid adventurers that downed the giant. GOLEMAGG DOWNED BY 24 !!!!

Word of this soon got out, and our heroes were swarmed by their adoring fans. Many a lass was vying for the attention of our warriors. With so many wishing to accompany them, Sakal and Malfeus brought a couple young ladies along the next night into MC. Bone even brought a strapping lass for himself, and it pretty much turned into ladies night in MC Wednesday.

Elder Tribunal enjoys a threesome

No matter where you go, that's where you are.

Buckaroo Banzai

With our intrepid guild leader on vacation (again), we decided to rock the house. On Tuesday we downed Ony and then ran over to MC, clearing thru Shaz. By that time many a pillow was calling for company and we decided to call it.

On Wednesday we resumed MC feeling much refreshed, except for Iceweasel who had to go get coffee of course, and finished clearing MC with less than 40 peeps the whole time. With Ony up again, we decided to go persuade her to cough up her loots. So those of us able to stay, 35 peeps, ran over and ganked that ho.

Three Bosses in two days, Awesome job ET !

Ragnaros doused

Complaining is good for you as long as you're not complaining to the person you're complaining about.

Lynn Johnston

Okay, so it's been a while since I've put up an update. ET's been far from idle, we've downed Ragnaros several times, Onyxia several more, and we've started working on Razorgore in earnest.

The good news is that there will soon be more folks posting updates. This will hopefully keep our homepage more fresh (actually it's mostly so folks will stop bugging me about it).

Anyhow, kick ass job the last month ET! Below is a pic of our first Ragnaros kill.

Majordomo falls!

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

Herm Albright

Last night we finally managed to down Majordomo Executus by ourselves! While we've known this was coming for a while, it was impressive that we had a full raid on a Wednesday and pulled off the 'domo kill with very few mistakes. Great job folks! Ragnaros is next, get your fire resist gear!

Hakkar down!

Without an adversary prowess shrivels. We see how great and efficient it really is only when it shows by endurance what it is capable of.

Seneca

Last night we had our best run in ZG to date. We started up, moved fast, and cleared the five High Priests, Bloodlord, and Hakkar in 3:28. It was not only our best time, it was also our overall best effort. Everyone was focused, folks were having fun, good WoW was played. I'm really pleased that we got all of that done, the last several weeks we've had no luck on Hakkar as the server problems have routinely prevented us from attempting him, or they've screwed up our attempts when we have had a shot.

Anyhow, great job ET! It was a victory well earned. Loots were:

Heart of Hakkar
Soul Corrupter's Necklace
The Eye of Hakkar

Modified AddOns to support Block

If the facts don't fit the theory, change the facts.

Albert Einstein

Here are links to modified versions of TheoryCraft and TankPoints that I've made. The TheoryCraft changes were to add support for ZG enchants in determining block value and a corrected strength formula for block. The changes I made to TankPoints builds off of the work Kinesia did and simply uses TheoryCraft to calculate block value (since it's a pain in the ass to do).

Anyhow, enjoy them warriors (and feral druids). They should provide a much more accurate representation of blocking. Note that TheoryCraft is required for this version of TankPoints - sorry, too much of a hassle to pull out the equipment parsing code. However, TheoryCraft is really sweet and shows you an accurate calculation of how much damage your abilities will do, and will learn mob armor values. It also allows you to see how much more damage you'd do by adding strength, agility, etc.

Better fare hard with good men than feast it with bad.

Thomas Paine

Just a quick update. We continue to work our way through Molten Core, with great success. We're now able to get Lucifron->Shazzrah clear in one night, and we're now learning Golemag and Sulfuron. We also played around in AQ20 for the first time this week, killing Kurninaxx after some difficulty.

We're real close to starting Onyxia as well, just getting the last few folks keyed.

Website enhancements

There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure.

Colin Powell

I've added some enhancements to the website. The first is a talent calculator, courtesy of Wowhead.com. The second is SK_List, a database-driven Suicide Kings list tracker. Finally, a few weeks ago I added a Realm status applet. All three are to the right in the link box. Enjoy!

Gehennas, Garr dead to ET!

I am in earnest; I will not equivocate; I will not excuse; I will not retreat a single inch; and I will be heard.

William Lloyd Garrison

All of our hard work in Molten Core is paying off now. Last week Lucifron, Magmadar, Gehennas, and Garr all died! Garr was killed on our first attempt, and Gehennas would have been on our first attempt as well except for an unlucky add.

Great job Elders!

New officer!

No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets.

Edward Abbey

I'd like to congratulate Zyin for passing his vote and becoming ET's newest officer! While the members have known for a week or so, I've forgotten to let everyone else know the good news. Good job!

Zul'Gurub success

I am the lizard king. I can do anything.

Jim Morrison

Last night we didn't have enough folks to do Molten Core, so we went to Zul'Gurub. we managed to do REALLY well, killing High Priest Venoxis easily and killing Bloodlord Mandokir on our second attempt. Bloodlord also gave up his raptor mount, which was really amazing!

Grats to the winners:

Mecc [Swift Razzashi Raptor]
Oni [Blooddrenched Footpads]
Muldir [Blooddrenched Grips]
Psymon [Primal Hakkari Armsplint]
Urkun [Primal Hakkari Shawl]
Iceweasel, Psymon? [Punctured Voodoo Doll]

New Raid Schedule

Don't be afraid to take a big step if one is indicated. You can't cross a chasm in two small jumps.

David Lloyd George

Here's our updated raiding schedule:
  • Tuesday - Molten Core
  • Wednesday - Molten Core
  • Sunday - Zul'Gurub

As needs change we will adjust the schedule, and as Zul'Gurub gets trivial we'll start mixing in AQ20 (we're a bit undergeared currently).

New website

Welcome to the new website! The new website is powered by Blogger, and solves our problem of having an easy-to-maintain website that looks good, is maintainable without the person having to know Unix or have shell access, and allows multiple maintainers.

Molten Core fun

Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs even though checkered by failure, than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much because they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat.

Theodore Roosevelt

We've been doing great in MC. Last Wednesday we killed Lucifron and got the following loot:
  • Drwolf - Cenarion Boots
  • Kruzchek - Felheart Bracer
  • Maladar - Felheart Gloves
  • Urkun - Tome of Tranquilizing Shot

Last night we went back and did it again. Great job! Grats to the following on their new items:
  • Genbu - Tome of Tranquilizing Shot
  • Kaioz - Cenarion Boots
  • Moohi - Felheart Bracers
  • Vitronia - Girdle of Prophecy
  • Warhound - Heavy Dark Iron Ring

After Lucifron died the remaining few folks decided to charge Magmadar to go out in style...
